Sisters Side by Side – an ABCD Partner!

June 25th, 2011

Sisters_Network_255154704_stdABCD is pleased to participate again in the annual Sisters Side by Side event, organized by the Sisters Network-Milwaukee, the local affiliate of the national organization providing breast cancer education and support to African American women.   A number of ABCD Mentors are part of the Sisters Network – Milwaukee, making the two organizations frequent collaboration easy and fun!

An annual free breast health and clinical breast exam event, this year “Reaching Out to U” will be held June 25th at the House of Peace, 1702 West Walnut Street in Milwaukee.   The event will be held from 10 am to 3 pm.

The event will include breast cancer health information for women of all generations and you can participate in a number of ways.

Promote the event:  Help spread the word to those who need the latest in breast health education.  Announcements at your place of worship or on your Facebook page are welcome.

Volunteer that day:  Join us as an ABCD Mentor helping with outreach.  To get more information about this activity or sign up to volunteer on June 25th, call the ABCD office or email us at abcdinc@abcdmentor.org

Get checked:  Make plans to have a clinical breast exam at the event.  All questions about how to qualify for a clinical breast exam that day or about the event itself should be directed to Sisters Network-Milwaukee at sistersmilwaukee@aol.com

For more information about the Sisters Network-Milwaukee in general, visit www.sisters4cure.org

We look forward to seeing you at this community opportunity to be safe, and get checked.
