Survivorship Theme for Mentor Continuing Education

September 17th, 2011

September 17th ABCD will offer Mentor Continuing Education focused on survivorship issues. Mentors will learn about formal Survivorship Care Plans now being developed at cancer care facilities nationwide. Mentors will learn what these plans should include and how to help those they mentor be actively involved in creating their own plans.

A second presentation will provide tools and tips for surviving and thriving beyond breast cancer – a session useful to mentors as they take care of their own needs and assist those experiencing breast cancer now.

To be held at M&I University in Brookfield, Wisconsin, the day begins at 8:45 am and will wrap up at 1:15 pm. Luncheon and an ABCD update are included. Mentor Continuing Education is offered to all those who have completed the initial 12 hour New Mentor Training course. Capacity is limited so register soon.

If you are not yet a mentor but wish to become one, please contact ABCD to learn about New Mentor Training sessions being held in October (Racine, Wisconsin) and November (Milwaukee, Wisconsin). The 2012 training program calendar will be published in late fall 2011.

Advance registration for mentor training of any kind is required and is easy to do. Contact ABCD at 414.977.1780 or email us at
