“Partnership that is Personal” Describes Sendik’s Commitment to ABCD’s Free Support Services
Since 2006, Balistreri Owned & Operated Sendik’s Food Markets have committed their entire team’s efforts to promoting and strengthening ABCD’s mission of free, personalized information and one-to-one support to anyone affected by breast cancer. This February through April, it is no different.
Visit any “red bag” Sendik’s in early February and you will have the chance to show those affected by breast cancer “some love” by adding a $1 donation to your check out total. For every dollar you add, you will receive a tasty chocolate heart thank you!
As spring progresses, other opportunities to support and learn about ABCD will continue. ABCD mission service stories will be posted in stores and special promotions, including the popular one-to-one ice cream sale will be on the schedule. In March, customers can be part of ABCD’s “with you every step of the way” mission support message. And, in April, ABCD mentors will visit all 10 store locations, so share personally how ABCD makes an impact throughout southeast Wisconsin and beyond.
This annual partnership was born from the Balistreri family’s personal breast cancer journey. Sibling owners Margaret, Ted, Patrick and Nick were there 100% plus when their mom battled (and defeated) breast cancer. Although Sendik’s has always been deeply committed to the community, this family business goes the extra mile for ABCD, making sure store staff is knowledgeable about ABCD services and featuring an annual ABCD update in the spring issue of Real Food magazine (sales proceeds support ABCD so pick up a few copies!).
